我的父母是在教堂认识的。我爸爸看到妈妈在弹钢琴，就1见钟情了。我爸爸是小时候从印度移民过来的。我爷爷是个科学家，我奶奶是个护士。他们本来住在印度南部的1个农家小镇上，然后读到报纸上的广告说加拿大需求科学家和护士。他们来加拿大的时候甚么保障都没有，只把自己的衣服背在身上。他们那阔别故乡的决定，永久地改变了我们家庭的命运。

小的时候我会在车里呆很多时间。我们永久都在搬家，我爸爸总是得换着城市工作，车里成了我的安全领地，那就是我的家。有的时候我们会在城里呆上几星期，有的时候就只是几天。但我的妈妈总会让我们忙起来，要末做点东西，要末在外头跟我们玩，她从不让我们觉得自己是流离失所的孩子。我的妈妈和爸爸是1对住在郊区的人种混合夫妻。我小时候总是不明白为何有些事情会产生：为何人们会那样对待我爸，为何人们会那样对待我，为何我那肤色和瞳孔色彩较淡的姐姐就不受人欺侮。我记得小时候我每一个晚上都要祈祷自己的瞳孔色彩能够变淡，但我也记得第1次为自己是谁而自豪是甚么时候。那是1次夏令营，我那时8岁，所有的的女孩都不愿意跟我玩。我问他们为何不愿意跟我说话，她们说家长不允许她们跟长得像我这样的人说话。我不理解，因而我说“我怎样了嘛？”她们说“你的肤色太深了”。我感觉好奇怪。因而我打电话给爸爸。我爸爸立马来到夏令营，告知所有女孩，如果她们的雀斑都聚在1起她们会比我还黑。他告知她们我们家族的历史，他说了我们的故乡，并且问那些女孩，如果有人由于她们的肤色太淡而不跟她们玩，她们又会怎样想？他说完话工作服生产流程
以后，那些女孩都哭了。要是1直都这么容易就行了。

我有许多古怪的记忆。我来自1个欺压、愤怒和痛楚的世界。我那些印度的先人分成了两派。我的先人曾是印度教祭司，但那些转信基督教的先人被放逐了。使徒多马（耶稣102徒弟之1）让大部份南印度人皈依了基督教。我不是你通常见到的南印度子嗣。我大概是那种最有争议的可能性了：1个有美术学位的混血双性恋说唱歌手。音乐从不在我的斟酌范围内，现在也不是。我1开始学的是电影，这也是为何直到今天我依然导演和剪辑我自己的所有音乐视频。我是个10分重视隐私的人。又自豪又害臊可以说是最不让人愉悦的内心活动了。我不喜欢谈论自己的艺术，我也不喜欢谈论自己。接受访谈对我来讲很困难，让我坐立难安。我没办法在任何人眼前展露真实的自我。我用音乐代替说话。我相信现象学。我希望我做的艺术本身就是1个话题，而不是去谈论甚么话题。我对音乐和采访也是这个观点，如果我必须坐在这里向你解释为何某个东西很好的话，那个东西可能已失败了。如果作品不能够独立于艺术家而存在的话，它还算是艺术吗？我1开始做说唱是由于我真的不觉得自己会唱歌，但最近我开始唱歌了，由于我真的不怎样想说唱了。

我有个14岁的mm。她是我全球最爱好的人。自从妈妈以后我再也没有见过如此有同情心、善良又聪明的人了。这14年里，我历来没有见过这个小家伙生气过。1次都没有。她面对任何情形都有着超出年龄的理智；我得先说明这个条件，由于她直到今年才被允许听我的音乐。我爸爸是我最大的粉丝，但他说：“如果你想要你的mm听你的音乐，那你就做1首她能听的歌。”我爸的意思是，这首歌不能讲脏话。当时我在加拿大的父母家里，我走上楼，在门底下塞满了袜子，让我爸把他的音乐音调小，在我的卧室里弄起了录音间，打开制作软件。那天我写了1首叫 I'm Yours 的歌。那就是这张专辑的开端。

去年在纽约的1间酒吧里，1个女孩儿走过来告知我，她能看见天使。我相信天使的存在。我不觉得自己配得上目前具有的资源，但我希望这张专辑《Genesis》能享遭到渠道和资源。他们让我谈谈自己的性观念，但就最近而言我音乐背后的推动力其实不是性。随着年纪的增长，我开始接受另外一种能量源泉。世界就像是1个19岁男孩儿，分不清愿望和需求。我之前也是那样的，但现在我意想到我已有了1切，不需要他人给予我任何东西。如果没有精神的话，我不过是内脏、骨头和血液的结合而已。
